More Stay Sweet by Amy Tangerine

Hi Magpies, it’s Caroline back again. I have three more layouts for you today, using the lovely summery collection Stay Sweet by Amy Tangerine. I have definitely been loving the bright colours of this collection, especially whilst it’s been wet and miserable outside.

A Rainy Day at Glendurgan Gardens

My first layout features photos from a rainy, day trip to some National Trust gardens. I started by picking two papers that I felt told the story of the photos. I used the B side of the Candy Stripe paper, with it’s beautiful leaf-like print to represent the gardens. Then the B side of the Eyes On You paper, as it reminded me of rain.

I decided to use a grid layout for this page and cut my papers into strips. Cutting the leaf print slightly taller than my photos, which I matted onto black card so that they would stand out from the busy background. I also added some thin strips of black card to make the patterned papers pop off the page.
To the right of my photos I added a kraft journaling card from the Shine On Die Cut Ephemera pack. Placing a camera fussy cut from the Picturesque paper to the top of the card.

I placed my title across the full length of the page using the rose gold Thickers from the collection. Along with the clear alphabet stickers from the Sticker Book. However, the clear stickers disappeared on the busy paper. Therefore, I cut a banner from white card, to make them more visible. I finished the page by adding the two kraft leaf die cuts from the Shine On pack below the title. As well as two flag banners at opposite corners of the page which I added some Nuvo Dots to.

Early Spring Sunshine

I started my second layout by applying three colours of Vicki Boutin’s art crayons to my background. Applying the crayon dry through a stencil with a stencil brush. I applied this vertically about a third of the way in from the left of my page. I find it gives a subtle hint of a pattern and colour.

Next I cut a piece of the Candy Stripe paper, slightly taller than my photo. I placed this towards the middle of my page so that the stencilled background was still visible. placing my photo off the edge overlapping the paper and stencilled pattern. I chose the B side of the Popsicle Summer paper, to add an area to the right of my photo to place my title. Next I added strips of the A and B sides of the Picturesque paper to provide grounding for my photo and title.
I selected three phrase stickers from the Sticker Book, which I placed directly on to the background, in a visual triangle across my photo. As well as a couple of die cuts from the Journal Studio Die Cut pack, which I added to the page and then moved onto my title. I chose to use the Thickers from the collection again as they are just so pretty. Mixing both the rose gold and the glitter ones, to give more definition to the word “Sunshine”. I finished the page by adding the lolly sticker above the title and some puffy hearts, as well as my journaling below the photo.

Seriously Yummy Banana Muffins

I have been looking for a way to record recipes that I have found on the internet that I use on a regularly basis. So I decided a traveler’s notebook would be the perfect place to keep them handy.
My third layout records a favourite recipe I use for banana muffins. I started by printing the recipe onto a kraft tag and laminating it. This way it can be removed from the layout and used in the kitchen, then wiped clean and added back to the book.

I used both the A and B sides of the Cosmic Candles paper. Placing a large piece of the B side across the centre of the page. I only stuck this piece down around the edges so that the tag with the recipe on would slip in behind it. Next I added a thinner piece of the A side vertically to the left hand side and placed my photo which I matted onto white card, on top.

I placed a strip of the A side of the Gumdrop Goodies paper to the right of the photo, to give me an area to create my title. Adding a strip of the B side at the top of the paper cluster to bring the lilac to another area on the page.

I started my title with another die cut from the Shine On pack. Completing it with some letter stickers and some Thickers. I finished the page with a tab cut from the kraft paper at the side of the photo and a couple of stamps.
