Still feeling Whimsical – Pink Paislee.

Hi there Magpies, Sheena here again x
Last month I chose to design with Whimsical, the latest Paige Evans range for Pink Paislee. I really enjoyed creating with the bright colours in this range so much so that I decided to continue to use it for this month too.
#Always Lovely.

In this Whimsical paper range I noticed there was quite a lot of lilacs and purples. I think purple is quite a marmite colour – you either love it or hate it! I challenged myself to use the purples with a bit of pink to create a layout.
The Whimsical 2in swatch book was the starting point for this page with me cutting the squares in half & quarters before arranging along side some patterned papers.
When I was happy with how they looked, I photographed it then removed them before I added some paint and splats to the background cardstock.

When the background was dry I stuck the triangles down along the long edge only then machine sewed them in place using co ordinating threads, so they could be curled up a little.
I added a few die cut, chipboard and sticker flowers either side of my matted photo then matted the cardstock on to Whimsical paper #19 to create a border.

Enjoy the Moment.

For my next page I wanted to concentrate on the ephemera and embellishments in this Whimsical range particularly the craft type elements. I struggled to find a photo to use for this that depicted creating & my craft space is in no state to appear in print! Then I hit upon the idea of a festival photo and came across this one my daughter had taken – perfect.
I started by placing down my photo and hand stitching around it to make it the focal point.

Using the Whimsical 2in swatch book again I started to lay the squares plus some patterned papers to create a circular shape. I then started to sort through the crafty die cuts, stickers and chipboard layering the Whimsical elements up, filling in any gaps. I added the 3 gold words to create a visual triangle around the photo.

Please share with us over on our FB page your December crafting, we know how busy this time of year can get but hopefully you’ve managed to find a few minutes to yourself xxx
Till next time.
