Summer lovin…

Hey everyone,
Its that time again! The months are going by so quickly, I just don’t know where this year is going.  I have some lovely summery offerings this month and as we have been having some wonderful weather there have been many photo taking opportunities, lets get started.

First up is a layout that I made using mostly Simple Stories “Summer Vibes” collection. I started off the layout doing some mixed media work on the white card-stock background. I used texture paste and stamps and some of the Heidi Swapp Colour Shine mists. The papers in this collection are just stunning – especially the “Shine On” paper, which is my favourite. I created layers behind my pictures and then used some of the ephemera pieces from Crate Papers “Poolside” collection, which are currently out of stock. I also cut some of the images from the cut apart sheet out as well. This is a really economical way to decorate your layouts. The Simple Stories cut parts especially are really good for doing this with. All you need is a pair of scissors and a bit of patience. I finished the layout out with some word strips from the Crate Paper “Poolside” paper “Swim Lessons”


 
For layout number two I did some more mixed media. I am totally in love with this way of working at the minute and its so much fun as well.

I created the background with more texture paste and Heidi Swapp Colour Shine. I then used some more papers from the “Summer Vibes” collection to create a small mat behind my picture. I used some Crate paper ephemera and more details that I cut from the Simple Stories cut apart sheet. I also added some of the Dear Lizzy Gold Foam Die Cut to the main cluster and the smaller one at the bottom as well. I finished off with some of the new washi tape from the shop, and some flowers from my stash.


Next was something a little less busy. I don’t often do less is more, but this one felt finished after not so much stuff had made its way on. I have mostly used Fancy Pants summer collection “Summer Sun”

I started with more mixed media, making the background with Colour Shine, texture paste and stamping. I also embossed some of the stars with gold embossing powder. The photo only has one layer of paper behind it. The sunset one from Simple Stories. The embellishments mostly come from the Fancy Pants ephemera pack. The red plastic bow is from Dear Lizzy’s “Fine and Dandy” collection. The buttons are from Shimelles “True Stories” collection and the red heart button is from my stash.


Finally I have a very bright and colourful layout. This one was so much fun to do.

There is a very simple mat behind the picture. I used another one of the plastic bows and some of the tags from the Fancy Pants “Summer Sun” collection. The lemon is from Dear Lizzy again and I coloured it yellow using a Copic marker. I finished off with flowers from my stash, coloured with Heidi Swapp colour shine.
