Sunny Days by Maggie Holmes | Jo Boland

Hello summer and hello Sunny Days collection by Maggie Holmes for Crate Paper. I’ve chosen to work with this collection this month even though it came out a little while ago. To me it was just too early to be documenting sunny days layouts when the weather was cold and miserable. But now, hurrah I have some summer photos to scrapbook! Who else still has some of this collection left to use?

Summer Love scrapbook layout.

I live 20 minutes from Bournemouth beach on the south coast of England. This meant that when summer did show up, we were able to head down to the beach for the afternoon. This photo was taken on the 1st June, we had our first swim in the sea and relaxed on the beach afterwards.

I fussy cut the title from the Bright Days paper, distressed the edges and popped them up on foam pads. I used Saturday paper (hearts) for the background and Seaside paper but the main piece. Unfortunately as this is an older collection these two papers are now out of stock, as is the die-cut ephemera pack.

I used the cut apart Beach Days paper for some of the journaling piece and the list piece. The camera is fussy cut from the Snapshot paper, my favourite and the chipboard pieces can be found here.

Flower Girls scrapbook layout.

For this layout I used a sheet of the Apple Blossom paper, fussy cutting nearly half and using the spotty reverse side for the top of my layout. The pink paper is the Coral paper. The yellow band across the centre is the reverse of the Seaside paper.

There’s another of fussy cut cameras from the Snapshot paper. I used lots of foam pads to give dimension to the flowers. The ‘6’ tag is from the Beach Days cut-apart sheet, as is the journaling piece.

I use some chipboard pieces and that lovely lady with a floral crown was the inspiration behind this layout. It went beautifully with photos of my floristry course class mates and tutor wearing the floral crowns we made after completing all of our exams. The glitter ‘Sunlight’ thickers are from the collection too.

I’ll back on the 24th with some more Sunny Days projects. Meanwhile, you can find more Sunny Days inspiration here.
