Sunny Days Tag Book | Morag Cutts
Hi Magpies. I’m back with another project using Crate Paper’s Sunny Days collection. I love a little mini book or tag book – they are really great for scrapping events. The beauty of these projects is that they don’t take too long to complete a page. They also offer a lot of freedom to layer and add bits and pieces from different collections.
My 4×6″ pages were made by simply cutting rectangles and snipping the corners off to make a tag. You don’t need anything special.
I fussy cut out some of the elements from Splendor and Collected papers before layering stickers from the clear Sticker Book. I added a bit of texture with some pom pom trim, tulle and lace trim to the book ring too.
Page 2 – the lovely gold doily adds a bit of impact to this page. I tucked in a swan from My Mind’s Eye Splendor paper.
I added a Willow lane thread bow for a bit of colour and texture contrast.
Another gold doily acts as the base for the stickers and fussy cut shells.
This background was created using inks washed across watercolour paper. I then stamped on the background using a colour wash for a nice painterly effect.
I continued the theme with this page creating a soft washed background. I stamped on top of the inked background and spritzed it with water before it dried before layering the fussy cut pieces and stickers.
A simple pocket holds extra photos and journaling.
The Cardstock and Acetate die-cut pack has a real mix of letter designs and textures. I love this letter H overlaid with a clear sticker.
I hope I have inspired you to create a mini book – it’s a great way to use up some leftover pieces and have a little fun.
