Use the Fuse!

Hi!

Do you have the Fuse Tool from We R Memorykeepers? I have! And I was very late to the party… bought it just weeks ago! But I have been watching it and I’ve been making plans. I don’t want to buy a tool and not use it. And I also wanted it to work as good as it possible could! After some reading and learning from other’s mistakes… I also invested in the Mat and Holster!
I was prepared to do a lot of practicing before I could do a “real” project… but nahhhh… I thought I was good at fusing almost right away. I think the mat helped and the fact that I patiently waited for the fuse to get really hot!
So… what kind of projects can you do with the fuse?
Well… of course you can make pretty shaker cards and change your pockets on your project life pocket pages. But you have seen that already right? So for this blog post I tried to come up with some new kinds of projects…

Shaker bookmarks

To make bookmarks filled with sequins are not very new… but I really like the concept and it is a perfect project to start with.

  • Decide how big you want your bookmark to be.
  • Prepare the paper.
  • Fuse a pocket a bit bigger than the piece of paper.
  • Leave the top opened.
  • Add the sequins and fuse it shut.

I then added a an eyelet and a string. Easy and very fun!

Tag with sequins

This one is a bit different… but very easy!

  • I first cut two tags in the size I wanted. But I made them much shorter.
  • Then I fused a small pocket with the same width as the tag and filled it with sequins.
  • I adhered the pieces of tags with the sequin pocket between them.

Then I added another, bigger tag and some decorations. Very easy and very sparkly!

Wall hanging

This project is a bit different!
It’s a modern wall hanging… or project life for your walls. I made the pockets to fit my photos and added some pretty papers to fill in the spaces in between.
Almost all decorations are added on top of the pockets. To add dimension and also to avoid bulk in the pockets. It is very hard to use the fuse on a pocket that is too full.
I made two. I had a lot of photos I wanted to show!

The second wall hanging are very similar. And they were both very fun to make!
You have to give it a try! If you don’t have a fuse tool you could make something similar with an pocket page.

I really like my fuse tool and my mat! It’s really fun to think of new kinds of projects to make. I still have to try to make a shaker card!
Always wait until the tool is hot! And be careful!
I used some page protectors from Becky Higgins for these projects. It worked perfectly! And I will absolutely buy some fuseables papers next! They look like so much fun!
That’s it from me! Hope you like my projects!
XOXO
