Dig out your dies.

Hey there, Sheena here x For my post this month I wanted to share with you a couple of pages I’ve made using a range of the dies in store. Even though I have an electric cutting machine, Silhouette Cameo, I still love the metal dies the manufacturers produce to co ordinate with their ranges. I find they cut really well through a variety of mediums giving a crisp shape. I have an old sizzix machine that I use with these dies. I also find them really handy to take to  crops and retreats as they are small and easily portable.
Lovely.

To create this background I used the “lovely” from the Shimelle dies pack. I cut lots of them & machine stitched them down to the patterned paper before giving them a little watercolour to soften their colour. I clustered the photo & embellishments so as to not cover too much of the background.  The paper & embellishments are from  the Shimelle   and Maggie Holmes Open Book ranges.

For my next page I wanted to use the Amy Tan Stitched range &  I used 5 different dies to help create the feel I was looking for.
Love LA.

I layered the Amy Tan Map of my Heart paper over the B side of the Stitched paper as my base.  I die cut the journaling card using an Amy Tan Stitched die, using paper from the 6×6 pad so I could write on the lines. The globe is from the Shimelle range of dies with the world cut from the 6×6 Map of my heart paper and the plane is cut from funky foam using  the Die-namics World Traveller dies.

The love in the title is from the Maggie Holmes Open Book dies and the camera is from the Maggie Holmes Style Board dies using the 6×6 Stitched pad again to layer behind the die cut.

I hope this inspires you to dig out your dies again. Till next time x
