Vellum & Silver & Gold

Hi again! It’s me, Ida, here with a monthly Project Life post. This post could be called “Use 12*12 papers for Project Life” or “Mix & Match” (just as my previous post). Because for these three spreads I chose to use 3 different 12*12 papers and matched them with bits and pieces from different brands and collections. I love to work with my spreads just like this! There is almost always a 12*12 paper I just must have in a collection. A big paper can be used for so many different things in PL. You can make PL-cards (and use both sides of the paper), you can make decorations with dies or you can cut out the pattern… but the post is called “Vellum & Silver & Gold”… and that is because I chose to focus on decorations in vellum, gold and silver. Vellum is very popular right now and there are several different designs in the shop! I believe silver will be popular again and I love to see silver and grey together! These are my spreads and I have a shopping list below the photos!

Week 31:

I just adore this super cute 12*12 paper from Studio Calico (Studio Calico – Brighton Pier – Pear-I-Scope Paper). The small pears looks fab together with photos of my daughter with pink cheeks. I picked up the red in the apple and used red decorations from MME and Pebbles, and I used a lot of the super pretty rub on stars in silver (Studio Calico – Brighton Pier – Silver Stars Rub Ons). For this spread I used two photos “stolen” from the internet! One is from the news and shows the big forest fire… a very important event in Sweden and my parents was very close. One night we could even smell the smoke in Stockholm! The other “stolen” photo is much more fun! My daughter played with a bucket one day and my husband snapped a photo. He posted it on facebook with the line “I has a bucket”. And everyone familiar with internet memes knows about the bucket! Right?!?!?! IMG_2241 IMG_2243IMG_2232IMG_2234IMG_2236 IMG_2237

Week 30 (a double spread):

My focus for the first part of week 30 was the vellum (Studio Calico – South of Market – Vellum) and the 12*12 paper with a map (Studio Calico – Brighton Pier – Three Hour Tour Paper). The colors are really vibrant on this paper, so I used the vellum to tone it down a bit. My favorite die right now is the nesting die from Shimelle. It is a bit tricky to cut in vellum… but it works… if you run it through the machine a few times. 😀 IMG_2260 IMG_2261

… second part…

For the second part of week 30 I focused on vellum and gold foil. The photos are from a wedding that ended with heavy rain and a thrombus… so I wanted the cards to be as neutral as possible… but still a bit romantic! I used one 12*12 paper in a neutral color and matched it with a PL card from Crate Paper (Crate Paper – Notes & Things – Journalling Cards). Then I made some easy triangles in vellum and cut some hearts from gold foil. IMG_2249IMG_2251-2IMG_2245IMG_2248 IMG_2247

Hope you like my spreads! See you soon! IDA
